Exosomes: Structure, Function and Cosmetic Application

March 18th, 5:30-8:30pm

You are invited to attend our March meeting of 2025 with Dr. Fred Zülli.  Dr. Zülli is the business development director and founder of Mibelle Biochemistry Switzerland a business unit of Mibelle Group.   He previously worked at the Nestle Research Centre in Switzerland. His research focused on molecular biology and genetics of commercial baker’s yeast strains.

Dr. Fred Zülli studied chemical engineering at the Technical Engineering School of Winterthur Switzerland and continued his studies at the ETH in Zürich to study molecular biology and biophysics. In his Ph.D. thesis at the ETH he investigated the thermo stability of bacterial enzymes. He was the Vice President of the Swiss Society of Cosmetic Chemists and was responsible for the scientific program of the IFSCC conference 2015 in Switzerland.

ABSTRACT:

Exosomes are small vesicles that are naturally produced by cells. They play a key
role in cell-to-cell communication. In recent years, exosomes have gained significant
attention in various fields of research, including regenerative medicine, cancer
therapy, and anti-aging cosmetics.

While medical treatments typically utilize exosomes sourced from humans or
animals, the cosmetic industry tends to favor those derived from plants or
reconstructed exosomes. Mibelle Biochemistry has taken this one step further,
offering a unique dual-action concept. This approach combines plant stem cell
exosomes with the activation of the skin’s endogenous exosome system, offering an
innovative new approach to the market.
